Swansea’s Inoussa Loan to Portsmouth as Club Reshuffles

Zeidane Inoussa is closing in on a loan move from Swansea City to Championship rivals Portsmouth for the rest of the season, as the Welsh club reshape their options out wide.

The 24-year-old arrived at Swansea last summer from Swedish side BK Hacken for a significant fee, billed as a long-term project and tied down on a contract running to 2030. His first year in Wales never really caught fire. Injuries disrupted his rhythm, and he finished the campaign with just one goal in 29 appearances.

Now the landscape has changed again.

Swansea have moved aggressively in the wide areas, bringing in Moussa Yeo and Joseph Opoku, with Manchester City youngster Jeremy Monga also expected to join shortly. With fresh pace and competition on the flanks, the club are prepared to let Inoussa leave in search of regular minutes.

Portsmouth are ready to offer that stage. The south-coast side know the Swansea pathway well: Florian Bianchini spent last season on loan at Fratton Park, though his spell failed to ignite. Swansea are now keen to move Bianchini on permanently, underlining just how ruthless this reset on the wings could become.

There is also uncertainty around Ronald, another wide option whose future has come under speculation as the window unfolds.

Inoussa, a former Sweden Under-21 international, now stands at a crossroads. A loan to Portsmouth offers a clean slate, a tougher league, and the chance to prove why Swansea invested so heavily in him in the first place.
