Caleb Taylor has promised Millwall will not take a backward step when West Ham United roll into The Den for Saturday’s lunchtime Dockers Derby.
The 23-year-old defender, speaking on the BBC's EFL 72+ podcast, said the squad has been waiting for this one since the fixtures dropped. The rivalry is back on the calendar for the first time since February 2012, and Millwall’s ever-present centre-back wants it to feel every bit as ferocious as the history demands.
“I can't wait,” Taylor said. “You know what The Den's like, it's such a good atmosphere. Saturday we'll try and be solid, they have some good players, come down from the Premier League, they have huge financial backing. We'll make it a good game and really give it to them. It's going to be proper intimidating.”

West Ham arrive as the division’s early pace-setters, top of the EFL Championship after four straight wins and brimming with goals. They sit four points clear of 11th-placed Millwall and have smashed in 16 goals in their last four league games.
Taylor doesn’t intend to let them settle.
