Anthony Martial's Potential Move to Málaga CF

Anthony Martial is closing in on a surprise move to Málaga CF, with the Spanish club pushing to land the free agent as they battle at the wrong end of La Liga, according to Foot Mercato.

The 30-year-old has been without a club since ending his spell at CF Monterrey and has been searching for what he sees as the right stage to relaunch a career that once lit up Old Trafford with Manchester United. Spain now looks set to be that next step, after he reportedly rejected two approaches from Ligue 1 sides.

Europe has not been his only option. Libyan club Al-Ittihad Tripoli, fresh from signing Moroccan winger Sofiane Boufal (32), made an aggressive play to lure Martial away from the European market. The offer was huge: a net salary of 10 million euros over two years and a signing-on fee of 5 million euros on top.

For many players, that kind of money ends the conversation.

Martial walked away.

He is understood to have turned down the Libyan proposal, prioritising what he views as a genuine sporting project rather than a short-term financial jackpot. Málaga, sitting 18th in La Liga and in need of quality and experience in attack, are poised to benefit if the deal is completed.
