Hull City Targets £22m Iroegbunam as Man City Seals £65m Ndiaye Deal
Transfer deadline day has roared into life with Everton at the centre of a frantic late reshuffle, Hull City and Manchester City driving two of the window’s biggest moves.
Hull’s £22m play for Iroegbunam
Hull City have struck a deal worth up to £22m to sign Everton midfielder Tim Iroegbunam, a move that underlines their determination to muscle into the Championship’s promotion fight.
The 23-year-old is set to leave Hill Dickinson Stadium for an initial £13m. Add-ons could push the final fee up by another £9m if various conditions are met.
Everton have granted Iroegbunam permission to travel to East Yorkshire and complete his medical, clearing the way for one of the most eye-catching transfers of Hull’s summer.
He only arrived at Everton from Aston Villa in 2024 for £9m. A year on, the Toffees are cashing in.
For Hull, this is part of a furious late push. Iroegbunam would be their 13th signing of the summer window, and they are not done yet. Talks are ongoing over a loan move for Chelsea midfielder Dario Essugo as they race the clock before Tuesday night’s deadline.
The message from the MKM Stadium is clear: they are going all in.
Man City win race for Ndiaye after Spurs move collapses
At the top end of the market, Manchester City have agreed a deal worth up to £65m to sign Iliman Ndiaye from Everton, tightening their grip on the Premier League’s attacking talent pool.
The agreement for the Senegal winger is structured at £60m up front with a further £5m in add-ons. Ndiaye, 26, becomes the latest big sale in Everton’s attempt to balance the books and reshape their squad on the fly.
This transfer had a twist.
Tottenham had already agreed terms with Everton for Ndiaye on Friday night, anticipating a domino effect that would have seen Richarlison return to Goodison Park in a separate deal.
Everton are understood to have tabled a £35m offer for the Brazil forward. But Richarlison failed to agree personal terms with his former club, and the move stalled.
With no agreement on the player’s side, Tottenham could not push through the Ndiaye deal. The opening closed, City stepped in, and the deal swung decisively towards the Etihad.
Just like that, one of the window’s most intriguing attacking moves changed direction.
Deadline clock ticking
All of this unfolds against the familiar tension of deadline day.
Premier League and EFL clubs have until 23:00 BST on Tuesday to get their paperwork done. The window, which reopened for a second time this year on Monday, 15 June, cannot exceed 16 weeks in a calendar year under Fifa rules.
Last season, the English deadline was brought forward to 19:00 to align with the working day. It has now reverted to its traditional 23:00 cut-off, setting up another late-night scramble.
Across Europe, the shutters come down earlier. The windows in Spain, France and Italy also close on Tuesday, but in the evening rather than at 23:00. In the Bundesliga, business must be wrapped up by 19:00.
Scotland operates on its own rhythm. Clubs north of the border have until 17:00 on Thursday, 3 September to complete deals, the same deadline that applies to the Women’s Super League.
Everton’s outgoing traffic continues
While the Ndiaye and Iroegbunam deals dominate the headlines, Everton’s trim of the squad continues elsewhere.
Left-back Adam Aznou has joined La Liga side Malaga on loan for the 2026-27 season. The 20-year-old, a product of Barcelona’s La Masia academy, arrived at Everton from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2025 but found opportunities scarce.
He made just two senior appearances last season, one each in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup. Now he heads back to Spain in search of regular football and a reset to his development.
Forest reshaping under Glasner
Nottingham Forest are also deep in the market, and their business has a distinctly familiar flavour for manager Oliver Glasner.
AC Milan have taken Omari Hutchinson on loan from Forest until the end of the season. The Italian giants hold an option to make the move permanent at the end of the campaign, giving them a long look at a player who cost Forest £37.5m from Ipswich Town just a year ago.
Hutchinson struggled to fully establish himself at the City Ground, making only 17 Premier League starts under four different managers last season. Milan offer him a fresh stage and Forest some flexibility.
On the incoming side, Forest have completed the £22m signing of Colombia right-back Daniel Munoz from Crystal Palace. The defender reunites with Glasner after the pair lifted both the FA Cup and Conference League at Selhurst Park.
Munoz has signed a three-year deal after two and a half years with Palace, where he scored 11 goals in 109 appearances. He follows the £50m club-record arrival of Liam Delap and could make his debut against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Saturday.
Forest, like Hull, are not drifting through this window. They are reshaping with intent.
City move fast again with Allan deal
Manchester City’s recruitment machine has not stopped with Ndiaye.
The champions have also signed winger Allan Elias from Palmeiras in a deal worth up to £34.2m. City will pay £32m initially, with £2.2m tied to add-ons, and the 22-year-old Brazilian has agreed a five-year contract.
Allan arrives as a direct replacement for compatriot Savio, who completed a £75m move to Tottenham Hotspur last week.
A right-sided winger who came through Palmeiras’ academy, Allan scored nine goals and delivered 12 assists in 96 appearances in all competitions for the Brazilian club. Now he steps into a squad that demands instant impact.
City have moved decisively to ensure their wide options remain stacked as the fixtures pile up.
