Worthing Signs Striker Jordan Young to Enhance Attack

Worthing have moved to sharpen their attacking edge with the signing of striker Jordan Young from National League South rivals Torquay United for an undisclosed fee.

The 27-year-old arrives with a proven record at this level. Since joining Torquay from Yeovil Town in October 2024, Young has hit 35 goals in 88 appearances, a return that quickly made him one of United’s key threats in the final third.

Worthing boss Adam Hinshelwood believes he has landed a match-winner.

“Jordan has great dead-ball delivery and can score and assists goals from out of nowhere, so he's going to be a really important player for us,” he told the club’s website, underlining the forward’s ability to turn tight games with a single moment.

Torquay, meanwhile, have protected their longer-term interests. The club confirmed that the agreement “also ensures that United will retain a significant financial interest in any future transfer”, a clause that keeps them tied to Young’s next move even as he pulls on Worthing colours.
