Tegan Bowie Joins Parma Calcio from Hibernian
Tegan Bowie’s Hibernian story is over. The next chapter takes her to Italy.
The 22-year-old winger has completed a permanent move to Serie A side Parma Calcio after the Italian club activated a release clause in her contract, with Hibs receiving an undisclosed fee.
From academy prospect to title winner
Bowie’s departure closes a circle that began in the Hibs academy. She came through the youth ranks in Edinburgh before moving to Celtic, only to return to Easter Road in 2023 a more polished, more assertive wide player.
Back in green and white, she didn’t just settle. She drove standards.
Across her time with Hibs, Bowie made 101 appearances and scored nine goals, but the raw numbers only tell part of the story. In the 2024-25 campaign, as Hibs surged to the title, she became one of the side’s central attacking outlets, contributing five goals and 10 assists. When the season reached its sharp end, she was one of the players Joelle Murray leaned on.
The pressure on opponents often started on her flank. Direct running, sharp movement, a willingness to take on defenders – Bowie gave Hibs width and a constant out-ball, the kind of presence that stretches games and tilts them in your favour.
A clause that bit
For Murray, the transfer is a painful reminder of the power of contracts.
"I'm disappointed to see Tegan leave under a clause that was in her contract from summer 2025," the Hibs head coach told club media. She didn’t hide the frustration, but there was no disguising the pride either.
"She's grown and developed massively during her time at the club, both as a player and a person.
"I wish her nothing but success as she takes on this new challenge in a new country with a new team. Hopefully she can continue that incredible personal growth next season and beyond."
The release clause, once a safety net, has now been triggered by a club with the resources and ambition to tempt a title-winning winger away from Scotland. Parma have seen enough in Bowie’s game to believe it can translate to Serie A.
A player ready for a new stage
Bowie leaves having carved out her own identity in a Hibs side that found its edge again. She was not just a squad player racking up appearances. She was a consistent starter in a team that finished the season with silverware, a forward trusted to make decisions in the final third.
On her way out, she made a point of underlining what Hibs had done for her.
"I've gotten to experience some of my favourite memories with this team and being able to have the freedom to express myself on the pitch has helped me in my development," she said.
That freedom has now earned her a move to one of Europe’s most tactically demanding leagues. The challenge will be different in Italy: new language, new teammates, new expectations, and a league that tests a winger’s intelligence as much as their pace.
Hibs, for their part, lose a homegrown product who returned as a champion and left as a 22-year-old with a full season of title-winning influence behind her. Parma gain a wide player on the rise, already proven in pressure moments, stepping into a league where the next phase of her growth will be measured in a different kind of spotlight.
The clause has been paid, the deal is done. Now Bowie has to show that the player who lit up Edinburgh can do the same under the Parma sun.
