“Any club in the world would wish to sign him,” Terim continued. “Clubs from the Emirates and Saudi Arabia are ready to pay enormous sums for him, not to mention the giants of the Spanish, Italian and English leagues. But in the end he chose Trabzonspor, and this in itself is a great achievement.”
The pressure of that global market made Trabzonspor’s success all the more striking in Terim’s eyes. He reserved special praise for the club hierarchy, led by president Ertuğrul Doğan.
“President Ertuğrul Doğan and his administration deserve every appreciation and congratulation,” Terim said. “Bringing in a player of this world-class value is not an easy matter at all, as he is able to go anywhere he wants. What happened is a momentous thing and deserves praise.”
Salah has wasted no time justifying the fuss. He has started the Trendyol Super League season like a man intent on owning it: 4 goals and 1 assist in his first 5 matches, already carrying himself as the competition’s standout name.
