Harry Kane Breaks Bundesliga Goal Record with 101 Goals
Harry Kane did not just reach 100 Bundesliga goals. He tore up a record that had stood untouched for nearly half a century.
The England captain hit the landmark in Bayern Munich’s 7-0 demolition of Union Berlin, reaching three figures in only his 98th league appearance for the club. Cologne great Dieter Müller had held the best mark since 1977, needing 129 games. Kane has sliced that down with the ruthlessness that has defined his time in Germany.
He has been scoring at better than a goal a game since arriving in 2023, a relentless rhythm that made this moment feel inevitable long before it arrived. Before kick-off he was averaging a Bundesliga goal every 78.5 minutes; by full-time he had pushed his tally to 101 in the league and 152 goals in 154 games for Bayern in all competitions. Last season alone he produced 61 in 51.
Record-Breaking Strike
The record-breaking strike came in the 39th minute. Bayern, already in complete control, won a penalty and there was never any doubt who would take it. Kane stepped up, thumped the ball home, and history went with it. No fuss, no flourish. Just the clean, brutal contact of a forward who has been doing this his entire career.
Any sense of ceremony ended there. Bayern smelled blood. Early in the second half, Kane rose to nod in a Michael Olise cross, his second of the night, his 101st in the Bundesliga, and the goal that helped send Bayern back to the top of the table before the rest of the weekend’s fixtures.

Kane’s feat cut across an outrageous attacking display in which Olise helped himself to his first Bayern hat-trick and Jamal Musiala produced a solo effort good enough to win any match on its own. On another night, either could have owned the headlines.
Kane, as ever, pointed away from himself.
“I’m very proud to have now scored 100 and 101 Bundesliga goals. I haven’t been around that long. I’ve loved every second of it,” he told Sky Germany, before turning the spotlight on those around him. “With Michael, Lucho [Luis Díaz] and Jamal I naturally get chances and today was no exception.
“So I just want to thank the team, the club, the coach, and the staff – everyone who has helped me achieve this. Let’s keep going like this. Scoring more goals in games is obviously a big step. Of course, there have been many important goals among them. I can only say that I’m enjoying every minute of it. Just like today.”
The message was clear: this is not a destination, just another marker on a journey that shows no sign of slowing. Kane has already rewritten one Bundesliga record book entry. The way he is scoring, how many more lines will carry his name by the time he is finished in Munich?
