Ruben Amorim's Tactical Shift for Milan vs Lazio
Ruben Amorim has sprung a late surprise for Milan’s trip to Lazio, with Sky Sport Italia reporting a reshuffle that leaves Yunus Musah on the bench and hands key roles to Adrien Rabiot and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
Musah had been widely tipped to line up alongside Luka Modric in a two-man midfield. Instead, Rabiot will anchor the centre of the pitch, while Loftus-Cheek is set to operate higher up as the attacking midfielder, trusted with linking play and breaking into the box.
The rest of Amorim’s XI remains unchanged. Pervis Estupiñán keeps his place at left wing-back, offering thrust down the flank, with Samuel Chukwueze restored on the opposite side to give Milan direct pace and width.
Italy youngster Alphadjo Cissé joins Loftus-Cheek in the band of attacking midfielders behind the striker, a clear signal that Milan intend to attack spaces between the lines. Ahead of them, Gonçalo Ramos leads the line as the Rossoneri’s lone centre-forward.
Christian Pulisic must again settle for a place among the substitutes, but his wait is almost over. Amorim has already confirmed the American will see his first minutes of the season in Rome – and with this much firepower around him, those minutes could matter.
