Egyptian media figure Karim Ramzy revealed that Pezzera is now set to land back in Egypt on Saturday afternoon. Ramzy wrote on his official Facebook page: “Juan Pezzera arrives in Cairo at four o'clock this afternoon.. and Pezzera is bringing with him to Cairo four people, including a personal bodyguard”.
So the Brazilian returns, entourage and bodyguard in tow, after deliberately staying away from the team’s preparations. His future, though, is anything but settled. The decisive call on whether he stays or secures a move this window is still hanging in the air.
From hero to headache
The tension around Pezzera’s name feels a world away from last season.
Back then, he was a driving force. He played 44 matches for Zamalek across all competitions, scoring 8 goals and providing 12 assists. His creativity and end product powered the team through multiple fronts, and he quickly became one of the standout figures in the squad.
He capped that debut campaign by lifting the Egyptian Premier League title with Zamalek – his first trophy with the White Knights and a high point in his short spell at the club.
