Roma Pursues Nicolo Tresoldi for Gasperini’s Attack

Roma’s search for a fresh spearhead in Gian Piero Gasperini’s attack has taken a new turn. After seeing moves for Mason Greenwood and Crysencio Summerville collapse earlier this month, the Giallorossi have identified a new priority: Nicolo Tresoldi of Club Brugge.

It is a clear shift in strategy. Greenwood and Summerville offered proven end product in top leagues; Tresoldi is a bet on upside, a young German striker whose profile fits Gasperini’s demanding, high-energy football.

Gasperini, who thrives with mobile, aggressive forwards, is understood to be particularly taken with Tresoldi’s characteristics. The 21-year-old’s movement, work rate and willingness to stretch defences make him an attractive option for a Roma side being reshaped around intensity and vertical play.

According to Il Tempo journalists Filippo Biafora and Lorenzo Pes, Roma have opened talks with Club Brugge to explore a deal. The dialogue is active. The player has already made his stance clear: Tresoldi has expressed his intention to join Roma and work under Gasperini.

That is the green light every sporting director wants.

The problem lies elsewhere.

Club Brugge are holding firm on their valuation and continue to demand a high fee. Roma, operating within tight financial parameters, are pushing to bring the numbers down or structure an agreement that fits their budget, but Brugge are in no rush to compromise on a talent they rate highly.

So the negotiation becomes a test of patience and conviction. Roma have their man in mind, Gasperini has his ideal profile, and Tresoldi wants the move. Now it comes down to one thing: will Brugge’s price drop enough to turn mutual interest into a signature?
