A path to Old Trafford’s spotlight
The message from Old Trafford has been direct: Thompson will get a genuine chance to break into the first-team picture.
United have told the England Under-18 international that opportunities will be there if he proves himself, and the structure of the deal backs that up. The add-ons are understood to be linked to first-team milestones, not academy performances. His development now has a clear, measurable route into Erik ten Hag’s plans.
