Manchester City Signs Allan Elias from Palmeiras on Five-Year Deal

Manchester City have added another piece to their attacking future, sealing the signing of 22-year-old Brazilian winger Allan Elias from Palmeiras on a five-year contract — the club’s sixth arrival of a busy summer.

City’s Director of Football, Hugo Viana, did not hide his enthusiasm after the deal was confirmed on Monday.

“Allan is a really exciting player, and we think he will be a big addition to the squad,” Viana said. “He has shown throughout his short career so far that he will fight to be the best he can be.”

City are understood to be paying around €40 million ($47 million) for Elias, who rose through the academy at the São Paulo giants and has already clocked up 96 first-team appearances for Palmeiras. For a player still only 22, that is a serious body of work.

He joins Elliot Anderson, Geronimo Rulli, Ayyoub Bouaddi, Jeremy Monga and Pierce Charles in an overhaul that has quietly reshaped the champions’ dressing room this window.

For Elias, born in Florianopolis and forged in the heat of Brazilian football, the move marks a leap into the elite.

“This is a surreal moment for me. Manchester City, with everything they have won over the past 15 years, are one of the most attractive clubs in the world for players,” he said. “To be able to sit here today and say I have joined them is the proudest moment of my life. I love Palmeiras and always will -- but the decision to come to City was an easy one.”

His ambition is clear. Elias spoke of his desire to become “another good Brazilian” in the Premier League, namechecking Gabriel Jesus, Ederson and Fernandinho — countrymen who not only thrived in England but lifted Premier League titles in City blue.

Now the question is simple: can Allan Elias write his own chapter in that Brazilian legacy at the Etihad?
