Rice’s name now sits in elite company. He is the third-youngest player in Premier League history to reach 300 starts, with only Gareth Barry and Frank Lampard getting there at a younger age. That is the kind of company that defines a career.

He is also just the fourth player ever to rack up 300 Premier League starts before turning 28. Longevity at that level usually comes later, built over time. Rice has compressed it into his mid-20s.
