Brighton Target Femi Azeez Amid £15m Millwall Price Tag

Millwall have put a £15m price tag on winger Femi Azeez as Brighton push to get a deal over the line before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.

The Premier League club have already tested Millwall’s resolve twice, lodging bids totalling just over £10m in recent weeks. Both were rejected. The gap is clear: Brighton are still around £5m short of what the south London side want.

Azeez, a Nigeria international, is understood to be keen on the move to the Amex Stadium. The chance to jump from the Championship to the Premier League is driving his thinking, and Brighton see him as one of their leading targets in the final days of the window.

Millwall’s stance is firm but not immovable. The club are prepared to let the 23-year-old take what they see as the next step in his career, but only if their valuation is met. Until then, they hold the cards.

The situation has already left its mark on the team sheet. Azeez has been left out of Millwall’s last three matches, a notable omission given his impact last season: 11 goals and 11 assists in 35 league games, numbers that earned him a place in the PFA Championship Team of the Year.

His rise has been rapid. Millwall picked him up from Reading in 2024 for around £1m, a deal that now looks like one of the Championship’s smartest pieces of business. He is into the final 24 months of his contract, a detail that only sharpens the stakes as negotiations drag on.

There is interest from closer to home in the division. Fellow Championship side Wrexham are also believed to have shown an interest in Azeez. Yet for the winger, the priority is clear: a move to the Premier League.

Brighton now have a decision to make. Raise the offer and meet Millwall’s £15m demand, or risk seeing one of their top targets stay put – or be snapped up by someone else – as the clock ticks towards deadline day.
