According to Portuguese outlet A Bola, the Lisbon club are set to sign Colombian international forward Duran from Al-Nassr on loan, with the Saudi side agreeing to shoulder most of his substantial salary. For a club that has built its reputation on smart trading and value, it is a rare chance to tap into the excess of the Saudi Pro League without paying the full premium.
From €77m statement signing to surplus
Duran’s arrival in Portugal comes barely a year after Al-Nassr made him one of the headline moves of the 2025 winter window. The former Aston Villa striker joined the Riyadh club for €77 million in January 2025, on a contract worth around €20m per year until 2030. It was supposed to be a long-term cornerstone deal.
It never became that.
