From La Masia to London

Batlle’s journey to north London has taken in some of the most demanding environments in the women’s game. A graduate of Barcelona’s academy, she made her senior breakthrough with Madrid CFF in 2017 before establishing herself at Levante, where regular top-flight minutes sharpened her defensive instincts and attacking timing.

Manchester United spotted the trajectory and brought her to the WSL in 2020. Across 77 appearances she grew into one of the league’s standout full-backs, a relentless outlet down the flank and a defender opponents struggled to unpick. By the time Barcelona brought her home, she was already an established Spain international and a proven force in England.

Now, she returns to the WSL with a very different brief: to push Arsenal over the line in the biggest competitions.

“Arsenal is one of the biggest clubs in the world and I can't wait to feel the joy of playing in front of our supporters at Emirates Stadium alongside so many great players,” Batlle said. “I want to win trophies and I feel this is the right place to achieve that.”

Arsenal’s intent made visible

Manager Renee Slegers did not hide her excitement.
