Newcastle United Sign Lukas Hornicek for €30.578m
Newcastle United have moved decisively in the transfer market, sealing a €30.578 million deal for highly rated goalkeeper Lukas Hornicek from SC Braga on a five-year contract running until June 2031.
The Czech international was unveiled on Tyneside this morning as the club’s latest long-term investment, another statement that Newcastle are planning their future in goal with care rather than panic.
“The last few days have been an emotional rollercoaster from when I first heard about the move and now I'm so happy to be here. It's a brilliant opportunity in a new league, which I'm very excited about,” he said, speaking after signing his contract.

“From the very first moment I arrived here, I received a fantastic welcome and really felt the warmth of the club. Everyone has been brilliant in helping me settle in.

That body of work, built away from the glare of Europe’s biggest leagues, has now earned him a move into the Premier League spotlight.
