Mohamed Salah Receives Six-Month Driving Ban for Speeding Incident

Mohamed Salah has been handed a six‑month driving ban and fined after failing to identify the driver of his luxury Rolls-Royce “Spectre”, which was caught speeding in England.

Warrington Magistrates’ Court in Cheshire convicted the Trabzonspor forward in his absence, ruling on the case in August 2026 after he did not respond to repeated attempts to bring him before the bench.

The incident dates back to March 2026, when a mobile speed camera recorded the electric Rolls-Royce, worth more than €466,000, exceeding the limit. Police then asked Salah to confirm who had been behind the wheel. He never did.

That silence became the offence. Instead of a straightforward speeding matter, Salah was charged with failing to identify the driver responsible. The court found him guilty, suspended his licence for six months and imposed a €769 fine.

According to The Sun, two court summonses were sent to Salah’s mansion, reportedly valued at over €5 million. Both went unanswered. With no appearance from the player and no explanation offered, magistrates proceeded and delivered their verdict based on the paperwork alone.

It is not the first time the Egyptian has clashed with traffic law in the UK. In 2022, police caught him driving a Ferrari F8 Tributo at excessive speed, a case that ended with a fine and three penalty points on his licence.

Go back further and the pattern continues. In 2018, cameras recorded Salah using a mobile phone while driving near Anfield, another brush with the rules that drew unwanted attention away from his performances on the pitch.
