Michael Olise walked off the Allianz Arena pitch with a hat-trick, two assists and a standing ovation. He left the stadium with something even more personal.

In Bayern Munich’s 7-0 demolition of Union Berlin, Olise didn’t just dominate. He owned the night. The 25-year-old Frenchman collected the match ball, the man-of-the-match award and then, in the mixed zone, was handed a surprise gift arranged by one of his idols.
Journalist Isabela Pagliari, visiting the Allianz Arena, passed him a Santos FC shirt from Neymar, complete with a personal dedication from the Brazilian. A small gesture, but one loaded with meaning for a player who has openly named Neymar, Lionel Messi and Zinedine Zidane as the footballers he grew up admiring.
Now he is putting up the kind of numbers that belong in that company.
Flying form, ruthless output
This was only Olise’s seventh competitive game of the season. He has already been named best player on the pitch four times. His tally stands at 11 goal involvements, averaging one every 51 minutes. Those are not just good figures. They are era-defining numbers if he sustains them.
Against Union, everything flowed through him. He finished with the swagger of a winger in full control of his craft and created with the clarity of a playmaker who sees the game two seconds earlier than everyone else.
Team-mates feel it too. Harry Kane, who continues to thrive alongside him, made that clear.
"I really enjoy playing with Michael, and I also like him a lot as a person. Not everyone gets to see his true personality, but he is a great character. He is completely different from how he comes across to outsiders," Kane said.
Those outsiders mostly see the quiet, reserved figure who avoids the spotlight. After his five-goal contribution against Union, Olise turned down an interview with Sky. Jamal Musiala stepped in, jokingly explaining the arrangement.
"That is what I am here for," Musiala said with a smile.

Inside Bayern, the conversation has already moved beyond simple praise. Board member for sport Max Eberl pushed the debate into global territory.
"For me, Michael Olise is also one of the candidates for the Ballon d'Or. He is one of the best players in the world," Eberl said, placing him in the same breath as Harry Kane, Lamine Yamal, Kylian Mbappe and Rodri, all widely seen as leading contenders.
That is lofty company, but nights like this make the argument harder to dismiss. A hat-trick, two assists, another man-of-the-match award and a growing sense that this is not a hot streak, but a player stepping into his prime.
Olise walked away from the stadium with the match ball under one arm and Neymar’s shirt tucked away as a keepsake. One idol has already noticed.
