Bayindir’s Spanish opportunity: Celta Vigo move agreed
If Vitek’s exit is about a permanent break, Altay Bayindir’s next step carries a different tone: one last audition.
Fabrizio Romano confirmed on Wednesday morning that Celta Vigo have agreed a deal with United to sign Bayindir on loan, with a €4m option to buy. That fee can change depending on his appearances in Spain, a clear performance-based bet on a keeper who never truly had the chance to establish himself at Old Trafford.
Bayindir has been authorised to travel for his medical and to sign the contract with the La Liga side. For United, it is a clean structure: wages off the books, a pathway to a permanent sale, and a platform for the Turkish international to rebuild his value.
For the player, it is a lifeline. One season to convince Celta he is worth the option, and to show he can be a No. 1 at a high level rather than a permanent understudy.
