Locatelli Faces Knee Tests After Juventus–Milan Draw

Manuel Locatelli is set for medical tests on a knee problem after feeling discomfort late in Juventus’ 1-1 draw with Milan at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday night.

The Juventus captain reported the issue in the closing stages but stayed on the pitch and completed the full 90 minutes, according to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio and others. The concern emerged after the final whistle, with the Italy international flagging pain in his knee.

On Monday afternoon, the latest updates indicated that Locatelli will report to JMedical, where he is expected to undergo instrumental tests in the coming hours to determine the extent of the problem.

The timing could hardly be worse for Juventus’ midfield. Khephren Thuram has already undergone knee surgery and is not expected back until early 2027, leaving a significant gap in the centre of the pitch.

Another long-term absence there would be a major blow.

If Locatelli is sidelined, Luciano Spalletti would have to lean heavily on Weston McKennie, Douglas Luiz, Teun Koopmeiners and summer signing Pape Matar Sarr to carry the load in central midfield, with the captain’s influence and balance suddenly missing from the heart of the side.
