Lamine Yamal is back – and he didn’t bother easing into it.

The 19-year-old lit up Valencia on Sunday night, scoring twice in FC Barcelona’s ruthless 5–0 away win on Sept. 6, his first goals of this La Liga campaign and a sharp reminder of what the champions were missing at the end of last season.

He needed just six minutes.

Bursting onto a pass, Yamal stretched at full speed, swung his leg up to waist height and, with the very tip of his toes, flicked the ball past the keeper and into the net. It was an improvised, instinctive finish – the kind only a player brimming with confidence even attempts.

For Yamal, this felt like a restart and a statement rolled into one.
