Ilyas Ansah Joins Hull City from Union Berlin

Ilyas Ansah has traded the Bundesliga grind for the Premier League spotlight, completing his move from Union Berlin to Hull City and stepping into the English game with the excitement of a player who knows this is a career-defining leap.

The 21-year-old forward arrives with a full season of top-flight German football behind him. He featured in all but one of Union Berlin’s matches last term, a sign of both trust from his coaches and his own durability. Across that campaign he delivered five goals and three assists, numbers that only tell part of the story for a player who rarely hugged one position for long.

“I have heard a lot about the club, the players and the team, and I’m excited to play with the boys and to get to know them,” he added, already looking beyond the announcement photos to the dressing room and the training pitch.

“It was an honour and a dream playing in the Bundesliga. Now, I have another dream to play in the Premier League, and I’m going to work hard for it.”

That work will be done all across the front line. He does not see himself as a fixed-point No 9.

“I’m a very flexible player. I can play almost anywhere up front – on the left side, on the right side, maybe as a 10. I’m definitely a player who always gives his best and leaves it all on the pitch.”

Hull are getting a forward who wants the ball, wants defenders one-on-one, and wants to decide matches in the final third.

“Taking my man on, beating players, shooting on target and scoring goals – that’s my main goal I want to reach at this club.”

The team he joins has started fast. Two games, two wins, momentum already building.

“It’s been a really exciting start to the season – two wins out of two games. Now, it’s time for me to get into the team and be a part of what they are already achieving.”

The platform is set. The league he dreamed of is in front of him. Now it is on Ansah to turn promise and potential into Premier League impact.
