Rangers Knock Again for Driouech – PSV Hold the Line
Rangers have seen an improved £6m bid for Couhaib Driouech rejected by PSV Eindhoven, with the Dutch club standing firm as interest in the winger spikes across Europe.
The 24-year-old has emerged as a serious target for the Ibrox side, but the door is far from closed to others. Burnley and Celta Vigo have now joined the chase, with talks described as being at an early stage.
That extra competition matters. Driouech is understood to hold a slight preference for Celta Vigo after the La Liga club stepped into the race alongside Rangers, tilting the landscape just as the Scottish side attempted to force a breakthrough with their latest offer.
Rangers want him. PSV know his value. Celta sense an opportunity. Burnley lurk. The stalemate will not last forever.
Monaco, Celtic and Rangers All Blocked in Ghedjemis Push
On the other flank of the market, another winger has become the subject of a three-way battle involving Scotland’s champions and their biggest rivals.
Monaco have identified Fares Ghedjemis as their top target for the right-wing berth and are preparing an improved proposal after their opening offer was knocked back. The Ligue 1 club had tabled a bid worth £6m plus £1.7m in bonuses, but Frosinone said no.
They were consistent. The Italian side also rejected £8.6m offers from both Celtic and Rangers for the 23-year-old Algeria international, underlining just how highly they rate him and how fiercely they intend to protect their asset.
When a mid-table Serie A club turns down that level of money from three different suitors, it sends a clear message: pay the premium or look elsewhere.
Hassan Deal Nears Finish Line for Celtic
Celtic, though, appear far closer to landing another winger altogether.
Haissem Hassan has been left out of Real Oviedo’s squad for their pre-season match against Le Havre, with the 24-year-old Egypt winger the subject of a £9m bid from the Scottish champions and now waiting for the go-ahead to complete his medical.
The framework of the move is already in place. Hassan has an agreement to join Celtic on a contract running until 2030, with Real Oviedo set to receive £6m up front and a further £1.3m if Celtic reach the Champions League proper.
The only hitch is administrative. Visa issues are currently holding up the final steps, but the sporting side of the deal looks clean. Real Oviedo head coach Julian Calero has made it clear the club will not stand in Hassan’s way, removing any doubt over their stance.
So while Rangers wrestle with PSV and face competition from Spain and England for Driouech, Celtic stand on the brink of securing Hassan and remain in the hunt for Ghedjemis.
