Brian Farinas needed one training session. That was all.
The 20-year-old, who only weeks ago looked destined to leave FC Barcelona, has gone from the exit door to inheriting the No. 4 shirt and a full first-team registration under Hansi Flick. For a La Masia graduate who had one foot out of the club, the turnaround has been as swift as it is striking.

In fact, it is unprecedented in almost two decades. Farinas becomes the first player in 19 years to be officially registered with Barcelona’s first team without having previously appeared at senior level. The club has not taken that kind of leap of faith in a youngster for a long time.
