Benjamin Sesko's Bittersweet Return with Goal

Benjamin Sesko marked his return from injury with a goal – and a grimace.

The 23-year-old striker stepped back into the spotlight with a crucial strike, only to see his side throw away all three points in the final seconds. The late collapse cut straight through any personal satisfaction.

"We're very disappointed of course because we were very close [to winning] and yet so far," Sesko told MUTV, the frustration still raw. "To concede a goal like that in the last minute, it's painful for everyone because everyone was giving everything to try and win the game. Every single person here wants that. In the moments like this where a last shot decides it, it's very painful."

His finish should have been the headline of the day. After fitness problems disrupted most of his pre-season, the goal felt like a release, a reminder of what he brings when fully fit. The timing of the equaliser at the other end, though, turned it into a bittersweet comeback.

Sesko refused to dwell on the negatives for long. The forward knows his role and spoke like a player determined to turn anger into momentum.

"For me, it's the best feeling when I'm scoring, especially for the club like that," he said. "When I can provide the goals and the points for the team – it's my job at the end of the day."

He lingered on that word: job. Responsibility, not just celebration.

"It's nice to be back with the team to experience all the games again. Of course I wish today that we had won, but we can't change that."

The late blow clearly stung, yet Sesko pushed the conversation towards what comes next, not what slipped away.

"It's really important to take everything as positive even when it's not the best option from today," he added. "To see the game in a good light, to try and improve and focus for the next game."

His goal answered one question about his sharpness. The real response now has to come from the whole dressing room when the next last-minute chance to close a game arrives.
