Barcelona have smashed the Women’s Super League transfer ceiling to land Brazilian forward Kerolin Nicoli from Manchester City in a deal worth a reported £1.25m, according to Sky Sports – the highest fee ever received for a WSL player and a new benchmark for the English game.
It is a staggering rise, and it has happened fast. Kerolin only touched down in England 18 months ago, arriving from the NWSL in January 2025.
