Liverpool move first on Barcola
Arsenal have tracked Barcola for some time, sending scouts to monitor the France international as they map out the next phase of Mikel Arteta’s forward line. He fits the profile: 23 years old, direct, technically sharp, and comfortable operating from the flank.
But the landscape has shifted.
Liverpool are now reported to be in talks with Paris Saint-Germain over a deal for the winger, with L’Equipe describing the Merseyside club as the current frontrunners. The discussions are live. The agreement is not.
Because the numbers are huge.
PSG value Barcola at around €170million (about £145m), a figure that underlines both their financial strength and their reluctance to lose a player they regard as a major asset. Liverpool, by contrast, are pushing for something closer to £85m. That gap is not a wrinkle; it is a chasm.

Vinicius Jr: the headline ambition
