Arsenal Extends Emirates Partnership to 2033
Arsenal have tied their future even more tightly to Emirates, announcing on Thursday a new long-term extension to one of football’s landmark commercial partnerships, stretching the relationship all the way to 2033.
The deal keeps the Emirates name and logo at the heart of the club’s identity: on the front of the shirts, across the training kit, and above the door of Emirates Stadium. What began in 2006 as a bold branding move now stands as the longest club shirt sponsorship in Premier League history – and it is not slowing down.
A title, a statement, and a signature
This renewal lands at a symbolic moment. Arsenal have just been crowned Premier League champions, a season that restored the swagger of a club that sees itself among Europe’s elite. Securing a decade more with their principal partner is no simple footnote; it is a statement about where they believe they are headed.
Chief executive Richard Garlick framed it exactly that way. For him, the title win is “an exceptional moment in the club’s history,” and Emirates, he stressed, have been there throughout the climb, “standing beside us at the various stages we have gone through over the past two decades.”
Garlick was clear: signing on again is not nostalgia, it is intent. Renewing the partnership, he said, shows both sides believe in Arsenal’s future and share a hunger “to continue developing and achieving more successes.”
Beyond a logo
From the Emirates side, this is not just about visibility on a shirt. Sir Tim Clark, the airline’s president, described a relationship that has grown far past traditional sponsorship. Over the years, club and company have built what he sees as a distinctive experience for millions of Arsenal supporters scattered across the globe.
That collaboration has stretched Arsenal’s reach into new markets and delivered fan initiatives that, as Clark pointed out, neither side could have pulled off alone. The airline is not just renewing a contract; it is doubling down on a story it wants to keep telling with the London club.
Twenty years, and counting
The ink on the new agreement coincides with a milestone. Arsenal and Emirates are about to celebrate 20 years together, and the club plans to mark it with a series of events and activities for supporters in the coming weeks.
Central to those celebrations will be a new promotional film, revisiting the defining moments of the partnership. It will feature Per Mertesacker, the German defender who became a cult figure in north London and now stands as one of the club’s modern icons. His presence underlines what this tie-up has always tried to sell: not just flights and football, but a shared identity.
A new phase begins on home turf
The next chapter starts where so much of the story has been written: at Emirates Stadium. Arsenal will host Borussia Dortmund in the Emirates Cup, using the occasion to launch this renewed era with special celebrations planned around the match.
By 2033, a generation of Arsenal fans will have known no other name on the shirt, no other name on the stadium. The club have chosen their companion for the journey. The question now is how much silverware they can stack up while the Emirates name rides along on the front of the shirt.
