Those meetings convinced Arsenal that this was not a token flirtation. His openness to dialogue, The Athletic report, showed he was seriously considering walking away from Madrid and starting again in London.

In the end, emotion and money pulled in the same direction. Vinicius is said to have thanked the Premier League champions for their pursuit and the scale of their offer, before making clear that his choice was rooted in his attachment to Real Madrid and the level of financial commitment the Spanish club finally put on the table.
