Tottenham Reject Everton's Bid for Richarlison
Tottenham have turned down an offer from Everton for Richarlison, with the Brazilian forward keen on a return to his former club but blocked by Spurs’ valuation.
The bid, lodged by the Goodison Park side, fell short of what Tottenham are demanding. Spurs are understood to want at least £35 million before they even think about sanctioning a sale, a firm stance that has left Everton with a clear choice: pay up or walk away.
Richarlison, now 29, knows the blue half of Merseyside well. He spent four seasons at Everton and produced some of the most dynamic football of his career there before making a £60m move to Tottenham in 2022. That price tag still hangs over him, and Spurs are not prepared to take a heavy hit.
He has been heavily involved in Roberto De Zerbi’s pre-season plans, featuring regularly as the Italian manager shapes his first full campaign in charge. But the picture could change quickly. De Zerbi wants fresh firepower and is targeting Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo and Manchester City’s Savinho. If those deals land, Richarlison’s place in the pecking order would come under serious threat.
That potential squeeze has only intensified talk of a reunion with Everton. David Moyes is pushing for attacking reinforcements this summer and knows exactly what Richarlison can bring: energy, aggression, goals, and a connection with a fanbase that once adored him.
For now, sentiment counts for nothing. Tottenham’s stance is clear. Everton must meet their valuation or look elsewhere.
This is not the first time the Toffees have found themselves short of Spurs’ asking price. They tried to sign Djed Spence before his move to Inter Milan, tabling a £25m bid for the England international. Tottenham held out, Inter stepped in with a £30m offer and a 10 per cent sell-on clause, and the full-back headed to Serie A.
The pattern is obvious. If Everton genuinely want Richarlison back, they will have to break it. Spurs know the Brazilian has other admirers tracking his situation, and that only strengthens their hand as the window heats up.
