Spurs move for Gakpo
Tottenham have registered concrete interest in Cody Gakpo, according to Voetbal International’s Joost Blaauwhof, and have begun the process of trying to prise the forward away from Anfield.
This is not a move for a player at the peak of his Liverpool powers. Gakpo is coming off his least prolific season since joining the club, with just nine goals in all competitions last term. Yet the story of his year is more nuanced: he still delivered for the Netherlands on the biggest stage, scoring three times in four appearances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
He is 27, contracted to Liverpool until 2030, and entering what should be his prime. That combination — long deal, underwhelming club numbers, strong international pedigree — makes negotiations complicated. Liverpool are under no pressure to sell. Spurs, though, clearly sense an opportunity to add a versatile attacker to Ange Postecoglou’s front line.
Arsenal push on Osimhen amid Galatasaray resistance
Arsenal, meanwhile, have gone straight for a headline name.
The Premier League champions have held talks with Galatasaray over the availability of Victor Osimhen, according to the Daily Telegraph. Those discussions came in the middle of separate negotiations for Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri to potentially join the Turkish club, raising the stakes on both sides of the table.
It is not yet clear who first floated Osimhen’s name or how far the idea has progressed. What is clear: Arsenal’s long-standing admiration for the Nigeria international has not faded. Galatasaray’s stance looks equally firm. Florian Plettenberg reports the Turkish champions have already rejected a €130 million offer from Al Hilal for the striker, a figure that underlines both his value and the scale of any deal Arsenal would need to construct.
Nwaneri’s future adds another twist. Gazzetta dello Sport reports the highly rated teenager is also on AC Milan’s radar, turning what might have been a straightforward development move into a tug-of-war between major clubs.
Koundé’s Barcelona future in the balance
In Catalonia, another big name could yet be on the move.
Mundo Deportivo reports that Barcelona are open to a sale of Jules Koundé if a suitable offer lands before the window closes. The France international, 27, made 47 appearances last season and has been a regular presence in a defence that has often been under scrutiny.
Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool have all been credited with interest. For any of them, Koundé would represent a high-level, ready-made addition. For Barcelona, a sale would free up funds and space in a squad still trying to balance financial constraints with competitive ambition.
Chelsea plan for life without Enzo?
Chelsea’s midfield planning has taken on a sharper edge.
TEAMtalk reports that the club have identified Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton and Bournemouth’s Alex Scott as potential targets as they consider scenarios in which Enzo Fernández leaves Stamford Bridge. Chelsea have already made contact over both Wharton and Scott. Milan clear the decks

Big clubs circle Rodri and Quansah
Barcelona’s interest in strengthening their midfield has a familiar target.
The club will return with a renewed offer for Spain international Rodri, a source told ESPN, as talks with Manchester City continue. City value the 30-year-old at more than €70 million, with Barça’s latest proposal expected to land in that region once add-ons are included.

In north London, Arsenal are widening their defensive net. Sources have told ESPN that Bayer Leverkusen’s Jarell Quansah has been added to their shortlist as they search for a defender this summer. There have been no direct club-to-club talks yet; instead, Arsenal are exploring the possibility of a deal through intermediaries, keeping their options open while they weigh up the market.
Ferran Torres set for PSG
One deal is much closer to the finish line.
Barcelona forward Ferran Torres is set to join European champions Paris Saint-Germain after the clubs reached an agreement in principle worth around €50 million, a source confirmed to ESPN. The move is expected to be wrapped up in the coming days, with Torres due in Paris for a medical before signing.
For Barça, it is another significant outgoing. For PSG, it is a fresh injection of attacking depth as they continue to rebuild around a new core.
Other moves on the boil
The rest of Europe is hardly standing still.

Arsenal are also closing in on one for the future. The Athletic reports they have reached an agreement to sign Liverpool academy striker Vincent Joseph, 16, with the clubs now in talks to settle compensation. Joseph featured twice in the under-18 Premier League last season and will join a growing crop of young forwards in north London.
In the Championship, Leeds United are pushing to add experience at the back. Florian Plettenberg reports they have agreed personal terms with Borussia Monchengladbach defender Nico Elvedi on a deal until 2029 and are preparing an opening bid for the 29-year-old, who previously played under Daniel Farke.

They have rejected a €20 million offer from Premier League side Ipswich Town for midfielder Exequiel Palacios, Plettenberg adds. In France, Marseille are trying to tempt Reiss Nelson away from Arsenal. Footmercato reports the Ligue 1 club have made an opening offer for the winger, who has just a year left on his contract. That first bid is expected to be rejected, yet Marseille are readying a second push.
