Roma and Paulo Dybala Contract Stand-off: Ongoing Negotiations
Roma and Paulo Dybala are locked in the kind of contract stand-off that can define a season.
Talks over a renewal are ongoing, but far from straightforward. The club tabled an initial proposal to extend La Joya’s stay in the capital, only to see it turned down. Dybala’s camp, led by his representative Carlos Novel, responded with a counter-offer that has kept negotiations alive but unresolved.
According to David Ornstein and James Horncastle of The Athletic, the discussion is very much active. Roma want clarity. Dybala wants terms that reflect his status and influence. The gap between the two sides has not yet been bridged.
And there is a shadow over the whole process.
While Roma work to secure their No. 21, at least one Premier League club is closely tracking every twist. The interest is described as serious: if Roma fail to reach an agreement, that English side is prepared to move quickly.
For now, the talks continue in Rome. The moment they collapse—if they do—Dybala’s future could shift across the Channel in an instant.
