Robin Roefs Commits to Sunderland Until 2031

Robin Roefs has committed his long-term future to Sunderland, signing a new deal that ties him to the club until 2031 – a statement of intent from both goalkeeper and club after a breakout first season on Wearside.

The 20-year-old’s commanding presence in goal underpinned Sunderland’s surge to a seventh-place finish and Europa League qualification, and the Black Cats have moved quickly to lock down one of their key pillars.

Sporting director Florent Ghisolfi did not hide his delight as he spoke to the club’s official channels, stressing that Sunderland are building around Roefs not just for now, but for the years ahead.

“We are very pleased that Robin has committed his future to Sunderland until 2031,” Ghisolfi said. “He had a strong first season with us, but what we value just as much is his humility, his willingness to work and his desire to keep improving every day.
