Real Madrid Set to Secure Arda Güler Until 2031
Real Madrid are moving to lock down one of their brightest assets for the long haul.
After Spanish outlet AS revealed on Thursday that talks were progressing well, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano went a step further a few hours later: all details are now fully agreed between Real Madrid and Arda Güler’s camp.
The new contract is set to tie the 21-year-old to the Bernabéu until at least 2031, with Romano reporting it could even stretch to 2032. If that upper limit is confirmed, Güler will sit in exclusive company. Only big-money summer signing Yan Diomande, brought in for a hefty €125 million and contracted until 2033, would be committed to the club for longer.
For Güler, the looming signature is more than paperwork. It’s a statement. A clear elevation into the club’s inner circle of untouchables.
When he arrived from Fenerbahce in the summer of 2023, his original deal ran until 2029. Back then, Real Madrid paid €28 million to prise him away from Istanbul. That fee already looks like a bargain.
His market value has since exploded to around €90 million, placing the elegant left-footer comfortably at the top of the list of the most valuable Turkish footballers. The club’s hierarchy now intends to align his pay packet with that status. Reports suggest his previous salary of around €5 million per year is in line for a major upgrade.
He has earned it on the pitch. Step by step, Güler has gone from promising prospect to near-irreplaceable weapon.
Last season, he produced 20 goal involvements across 51 competitive matches, gradually forcing his way into the starting XI with consistent end product and maturity beyond his years.
This campaign, under new head coach Jose Mourinho, he has doubled down on that claim. Güler has started three of Real Madrid’s first four league games, delivering a goal and an assist in each of those starts. Every time Mourinho has trusted him from the first whistle, he has responded with direct contributions.
Only a suspension carried over from last season kept him out of the Champions League opener, a 2-1 win over Inter Milan. He watched that one from the stands, powerless, while his teammates edged through without him.
If this is what he looks like before his peak, Real Madrid’s rush to secure his future makes perfect sense. The contract length tells its own story: they are building a new era, and Arda Güler is right at the heart of it.
