Ravens Fall Apart in Second Half Against Queen's

Kingston, ON – For 45 minutes, the Carleton Ravens had Queen's exactly where they wanted them. On the back foot. Without a single shot. Silenced on their own pitch.

Then the second half blew everything apart.

Carleton opened brightly, snapping into challenges and carving out early looks. Xavier-Etienne Patry tested the Gaels backline, Damiano Totten found pockets of space, and Marek Achadinha forced Queen's to scramble. The Ravens controlled the tempo, pressed intelligently, and kept the home side from even registering an attempt on goal before the break.

It felt like a platform. Instead, it became a missed opportunity.

The entire night flipped in an instant after the restart. Early in the second half, Luke Harrop was whistled for a foul inside the box, handing Queen's a lifeline they hadn’t earned in open play. Damola Akanni stepped up and buried the penalty, and with that, the floodgates opened.

Carleton barely had time to reset.

Isaac Molouba struck next, capitalizing on the sudden chaos to double the lead. Before the Ravens could gather themselves, Sebastian Aguade added a third less than a minute later. Three goals in a dizzying spell, and a match Carleton had controlled was gone “in the blink of an eye.”

From there, the Ravens chased a game that had slipped far away, pushing bodies forward in the final ten minutes in search of any foothold. Achadinha rose well to meet a cross but saw his header fail to find the net. Moments later, Adrijan Vrankovic carved out a chance of his own, only to see that opportunity also go begging.

The scoreline never moved. Queen's 3, Carleton 0. A harsh lesson in how quickly a composed performance can unravel.
