Pedro Neto's Future at Chelsea: Manchester City Interested

Pedro Neto’s future at Chelsea is suddenly wide open – and the queue for his signature is forming quickly.

Four Premier League clubs have registered interest in the 26-year-old winger, with Manchester City among the sides tracking the Portugal international. Neto is not viewed as one of Chelsea’s “untouchables” and, crucially, the club are prepared to listen to offers before the transfer window closes.

That does not mean he will come cheap.

Chelsea are insisting on a major fee for the former Wolves man, who arrived at Stamford Bridge in 2024 for £54m. Internally, there is a firm belief that the market for wide forwards has been driven to new heights by scarcity at the top level. The numbers back that up: a £117m deal for Morgan Rogers and Paris St-Germain placing a £145m valuation on Bradley Barcola have become reference points across Europe.

Those eye-watering figures are shaping Chelsea’s stance. Neto, under contract and still in his prime, is being priced accordingly.

Manchester City’s interest adds another layer. A move to the Etihad would reunite Neto with Enzo Maresca, his former head coach at Chelsea and a figure with whom he is understood to share a strong relationship. Maresca’s departure midway through last season did not go down well with several players, and Neto is among those reported to have been frustrated by the Italian’s exit.

Now the possibility of linking up again, this time in Manchester, is on the table.

Chelsea know the dynamics: a seller’s market for wide players, a proven Premier League winger, and a superclub with a clear tactical plan for him. The only question left is whether any of Neto’s suitors are willing to match the price that Stamford Bridge has set.
