José Mourinho has confirmed his Real Madrid squad for Sunday’s La Liga clash away to Malaga, with Aurélien Tchouaméni and Endrick again missing out as physical issues continue to shape his early-season plans.
Tchouaméni’s ongoing discomfort since returning from his post-World Cup leave has again forced him out of contention. The midfielder has managed only a few appearances with the first team and drops off the list once more, a recurring absence that strips Madrid of one of their key central pieces.
Endrick is also out, but under different circumstances. The young forward is following a tailored programme aimed at keeping him clear of physical problems across the entire campaign, so Mourinho and the medical staff are refusing to rush him into regular action.
At the back, Raúl Asencio misses the trip with shin trouble, another defensive option removed from Mourinho’s board. He is not alone: Éder Militão, Ferland Mendy, Rodrygo and Thiago Pitarch are also unavailable, leaving the coach to reshuffle his resources again.
The absences open the door for youth. Mourinho has turned to the academy to complete his list, calling up Mario Rivas, Sicetero and Alexis Ceria from the youth ranks. It is a clear signal that, at least for this weekend, opportunity belongs to the club’s next generation.
