Monaco Signs Four Young Talents to Professional Contracts

Monaco have moved quickly to lock down a new wave of talent, handing first professional contracts to four standout prospects from their academy, including two Morocco youth internationals.

The club announced on Tuesday that Safouane Benzahra, Nahil El Haddani, Nejd Ajroud and Melvin Gomes Da Veiga have all signed deals running until 30 June 2029, a clear statement of faith in the 2008-born generation that lit up their youth ranks last season.

Benzahra and El Haddani, both Moroccan youth internationals, are joined by Tunisian-French midfielder Ajroud and Da Veiga, with all four having played key roles in Monaco’s under-19 side reaching the semi-finals of the French league last term. Their performances had not gone unnoticed, drawing interest from rival clubs before Monaco moved to secure their futures.

French outlet Foot Mercato underlined the timing of the decision, noting that the quartet had already stepped up to work under Filipe Luís during pre-season and were “ready to step up to a higher level”.

One of them has already crossed that line. Benzahra has made his competitive debut for the first team, featuring in Ligue 1 against Paris Saint-Germain, a significant marker for a player still in his teens and a signal of the pathway Monaco believe exists for this group.

For Ajroud, El Haddani and Da Veiga, the route is now clearly mapped out. Contracts signed, pre-season tasted, and the first team within sight – the next step is to turn promise into minutes in a Monaco side that has rarely been afraid to trust its kids.
