Manchester United Sign Sweden Winger Monica Jusu Bah

Manchester United have struck a deal to sign Sweden winger Monica Jusu Bah from BK Hacken, landing one of the most highly regarded wide players in the Damallsvenskan.

The 23-year-old is expected to complete her move before next Thursday’s Women’s Super League transfer deadline, with only the final formalities standing between her and a switch to Leigh Sports Village.

A fee will be involved, with Jusu Bah under contract at BK Hacken until 2028 after signing an extension with the Swedish club in September 2025. The exact figure remains undisclosed, but United are paying to prise a long-term asset out of Gothenburg.

A product of Swedish football, Jusu Bah came through at Umea and built her reputation there before earning a move to BK Hacken in 2023. Her rise has been steady rather than explosive, but this past year has pushed her firmly onto the radar of Europe’s bigger clubs.

The highlight came in May, when she played a key role in helping BK Hacken lift the inaugural Women’s Europa Cup, underlining her ability to deliver on a continental stage as well as domestically.

That club form has carried into the international arena. Jusu Bah has already won 11 caps for Sweden and featured in all six of their Women’s World Cup qualifying matches this year, establishing herself as a regular option in the national set-up.

United are not finished, either. The club are understood to be targeting at least one more signing before the window shuts next week, as they attempt to reshape a squad aiming to keep pace with the WSL’s title contenders.

Jusu Bah’s arrival follows the additions of defender Andrea Medina from Atletico Madrid and goalkeeper Janina Leitzig from Leicester City, signalling a clear intent: United are rebuilding with purpose, and they are doing it now, not later.
