City are preparing their official bid. The offer, according to reports, will land at around €120 million. In most transfer windows, for most players, that figure would blow the room apart.
Not this time.
Chelsea value Enzo higher. The Stamford Bridge decision-makers are holding out for around €140 million, a gap of roughly €20 million that currently blocks the path to an agreement. For City, it is a question of how far they are willing to stretch for a player they see as central to their next cycle. For Chelsea, it is about holding the line.
The pressure, for now, is all on the champions’ side of the table.
Chelsea hold all the cards
The reason is simple: contract and context.
Enzo Fernandez is tied to Chelsea until 2032. That long-term deal gives the club a commanding position. They are not staring at an expiring contract, not juggling a wantaway player with a year left, not scrambling to cover a financial hole.
