Luis Enrique Raises Concerns Over Hakimi Injury After Brest Victory

Paris Saint-Germain left Brest with three points on Sunday, but also with their first major worry of the season.

Achraf Hakimi, one of Luis Enrique’s key pillars on the right, limped off before half-time with what appeared to be a muscle problem. The Morocco international pulled up near the touchline, slowed to a halt, then bent over to test his right leg himself. A few seconds later, he signalled to the bench. He knew he could not continue.

The diagnosis is not yet official, but the area is clear: the right adductor. The discomfort was obvious as Hakimi headed off, and with it came a jolt of concern for PSG, who have leaned heavily on his energy and attacking thrust since the start of the campaign.

The timing could hardly be worse. An international break is around the corner, and any muscular issue now will set nerves jangling in Paris and in Morocco.

Asked after the game about the extent of the damage, Luis Enrique kept his guard up. According to Foot Mercato, the PSG coach said: “Hakimi? I hope the injury is not serious, it is difficult to determine that. He will undergo a medical examination tomorrow.”

No reassurance, no prediction. Just a wait.

For PSG, that wait now becomes crucial. The club will rely on Monday’s medical tests to understand the nature of the injury and how long Hakimi might be out. Only then will they know if this is a brief scare or the first real storm of their season.
