He did not arrive this year. Expectations that he could be available as a free agent at the end of the season did not materialise into a move to Turin. That forced Juventus to rethink the route, not the destination.
So the plan has shifted. Suzuki would spend a season in Turin, handling the gloves while the club waits for the right moment to go after Alisson again. One year of a high-level, trusted option now, to keep the long-term door open.

For Juventus, the logic is clear. Suzuki gives them a goalkeeper they believe can perform at a top level immediately. He covers the gap without forcing the club to abandon or alter their long-term ambition.
Suzuki gains a crucial year at a major club, in a demanding environment, with the chance to prove himself on one of the biggest stages in Europe. Juventus, meanwhile, keep their sights firmly on Alisson.
