Juventus Targets Sorloth as Vlahovic Exit Approaches
Juventus have moved decisively for Alexander Sorloth and now find themselves locked in talks with Atletico Madrid to close a deal before the World Cup kicks off.
La Gazzetta dello Sport and Tuttosport both report that the Bianconeri have already reached a full agreement with the Norway international. Sorloth has accepted a contract worth €4m per season, running until 2029 with an option to extend to 2030. The player side is done. The clock now ticks on the clubs.
Race against the World Cup clock
Juventus want everything wrapped up before Norway’s World Cup debut against Iraq on June 17 (CET). The plan is clear: strike a deal with Atletico, then immediately send a club representative to the USA to oversee Sorloth’s medical tests ahead of the transfer.
It is a bold timeline, but it reflects the urgency in Turin. Dusan Vlahovic has decided to leave as a free agent when his contract expires in June, forcing Juve to move quickly for a new focal point in attack. Sorloth, an experienced centre-forward, has been identified as the man to step straight into that role.
Atletico’s price, Juve’s leverage
Atletico Madrid are open to selling. Their asking price is reported at around €30m–35m, a figure boosted by interest from the Premier League. Juventus, though, are pushing hard to keep the fee under €30m and believe they can eventually find common ground with the Colchoneros.
One key bargaining chip sits already between the two clubs: Nico Gonzalez. The midfielder spent the 2025-26 season on loan at the Wanda Metropolitano and does not want to return to Turin this summer. Juventus may be forced to offer Atletico a discount on a permanent deal for Nico to help unlock the Sorloth negotiations and bring the overall package into a range they consider acceptable.
A deal taking shape
For now, there is no handshake, but the structure is clear. Player agreed. Salary agreed. Contract length agreed. A selling club willing to talk, a buying club determined to close.
If Juventus and Atletico can bridge the final gap in valuation before the World Cup begins, Sorloth’s move will accelerate quickly, from paperwork to medicals in the USA. With Vlahovic on his way out and a new era in attack about to begin, the next few days could define how Juventus line up for years to come.
