Juventus Firm on Kenan Yildiz Amid Arsenal Interest
Juventus are drawing a thick red line through Kenan Yildiz’s name on this summer’s transfer market — and Arsenal are on the wrong side of it.
Luciano Spalletti has made his position brutally clear. The Juventus manager does not want to hear numbers, proposals or creative structures when it comes to his 21-year-old winger.
“I am perfectly relaxed, because dealing with Yildiz is easy for me,” Spalletti told reporters. “They can offer whatever they like, I want Yildiz here and will always put him on the field.
“His future is already important, staying at Juventus, not because there are other clubs who want to spend €100m for him.”
That last line cuts straight to the heart of the current stand-off. Arsenal, as reported by David Ornstein for NBC Sports, have identified Yildiz as a major attacking target, and Juventus know it. They just do not care.
Reports from Sacha Tavolieri in recent days described Yildiz as a “dream” signing for Mikel Arteta this summer, with Arsenal understood to have moved beyond simple admiration and into action. Arteta has been pushing the idea for some time, and the club are said to be ready to “pull out all the stops” to bring the Turkey international to north London.
Juventus’ answer has been consistent: absolutely not.
Club general manager Damien Comolli has gone even stronger than his head coach, branding Yildiz “untouchable” and “at the centre of our project”. Comolli has openly acknowledged Arsenal’s interest, but shut the door with a line that has echoed around Europe: Juventus would not sell “even if they offered €100m”.
That kind of rhetoric usually signals one of two things: a negotiating stance, or a genuine refusal. Right now, everything coming out of Turin sounds like the latter.
Arsenal are not walking away, though. James McNicholas reported for The Athletic that the Gunners are still hovering in the background, tracking any late movement that might shake Yildiz loose or, failing that, open a path to Julian Alvarez at Atletico Madrid.
They are essentially waiting for the market to do what Juventus insist it will not do: make Yildiz available.
With the window entering its final stretch, the Italian club are doubling down rather than softening. Spalletti is building around the winger. Comolli is talking about him as a pillar of the project. Publicly, at least, Juventus are acting like a club prepared to turn down the kind of bid that would normally reshape a balance sheet.
Arsenal, for now, remain on standby. The question is simple: will the market crack Juventus’ resolve, or has one of Europe’s most coveted young wingers already slipped beyond their reach this summer?
