Inter have stepped firmly into the chase for Tottenham defender Spence, tabling a formal opening bid for the 25-year-old as his time in north London edges towards a crossroads.
The Italian side, fresh from reshaping their own squad, have put an offer worth over €30 million on the table, according to Fabrizio Romano. It is a bid that underlines how serious the Nerazzurri are about strengthening Christian Chivu’s back line and bringing the former Nottingham Forest standout back to Serie A, where he previously spent a loan spell with Genoa.
This isn’t a case of Inter testing the waters. The player is already on board.
Per GiveMeSport, Spence has reached a total agreement on personal terms with the Milan club and has given the green light to the move, signalling a clear desire to relaunch his career in Italy after slipping down the order under Roberto De Zerbi at Spurs.
Tottenham, though, are not ready to fold at the first offer.
Inter’s proposal of around €30m (£25.6m) is substantial, but reports indicate Spurs want closer to €35m (£30m) plus performance-related add-ons.
