Crystal Palace Sign Axel Disasi on Loan from Chelsea
Crystal Palace have landed Axel Disasi on loan from Chelsea for the 2026-27 season, adding serious weight to Pierre Sage’s new-look defence.
The 28-year-old arrives with Premier League miles already on the clock. Since joining Chelsea in 2023, Disasi has taken in loan spells at Aston Villa and West Ham, racking up 58 top-flight appearances across the three clubs. He also brings pedigree from the international stage, with five senior caps for France.
For Palace, this is not a punt. It’s a statement.
“I’m very happy,” Disasi said after the move was confirmed. “The club has been going in a very good direction, so I think it was the right place for me to keep going.
“I know that it’s very tough to play against Palace at Selhurst Park – so I’m looking forward to being on the other side now.”
Selhurst Park has long had a reputation as one of the most awkward away days in the league. Now Palace are trying to turn that edge into something more sustained, and Disasi is central to that plan.
He becomes the club’s seventh signing of the summer under new manager Pierre Sage, who is rapidly reshaping the squad in his image. A fresh back line, more physical presence, more experience: the pattern is clear.
Chairman Steve Parish underlined the significance of the deal.
“We are pleased to welcome a defender of Axel’s experience and calibre to Palace for the season. I look forward to seeing him in action at Selhurst Park,” he said.
The question now is not whether Palace are building. It’s what comes next before the window slams shut – and where this revamped side can take them once Disasi starts marshalling that back four in SE25.
