Costantino Favasuli Joins Napoli on Loan

Costantino Favasuli has taken the first concrete step towards becoming a Napoli player, arriving at Rome’s Villa Stuart clinic on Tuesday morning to undergo his medical.

The 22-year-old Italian full-back is set to join the Partenopei from Serie B side Catanzaro on an initial one-season loan. Napoli will pay €1 million for the temporary deal, which includes an obligation to buy set at around €6 million.

A small group of Napoli supporters greeted Favasuli outside the clinic, a sign of the growing curiosity around a defender widely regarded as one of the most promising young left-backs in Italian football.

Favasuli comes off a standout campaign with Catanzaro, where he scored two goals and delivered seven assists in 36 appearances, playing a key role in the club’s run to the Serie B play-off final. Although he is considered a natural left-back, Catanzaro often deployed him on the right side of defence, underlining his tactical flexibility and comfort on both flanks.

His rise has not gone unnoticed at national level. In June, Favasuli made his senior Italy debut under caretaker coach Silvio Baldini and featured in both friendlies against Greece and Luxembourg, a rapid jump that has now been followed by a move to a club with Champions League ambitions.

If the medical goes as expected, Napoli will lock in a defender who can cover both full-back positions and who arrives with momentum, confidence, and a clear upward trajectory.
