Bournemouth Signs Michele Di Gregorio on Loan from Juventus

Bournemouth have made their move – and it’s a bold one.

The club have confirmed the signing of Michele Di Gregorio from Juventus, a deal that brings the 29-year-old goalkeeper to the Vitality Stadium on an initial season-long loan and plants a clear marker of ambition in the Premier League landscape.

The agreement hands Andoni Iraola an experienced, top-level presence in goal straight away, with Di Gregorio stepping out of the intense spotlight of Turin into the unforgiving rhythm of English football.

Juventus, as they often do, laid out the financial details in full. Bournemouth will pay €1.3m for the one-year loan, guaranteeing the Bianconeri an immediate return. The fee could rise by another €800,000 if Di Gregorio hits a series of performance-related targets during his debut campaign in England, tying Juve’s income directly to his impact on the pitch.

The structure of the deal shows this is no casual stop-gap. Bournemouth have secured an option to buy at the end of the season for €12.7m, payable across three financial years, with a further €1.5m available in add-ons. If the move works, the Cherries can turn a short-term fix into a long-term cornerstone.

For Bournemouth’s new director Tiago Pinto, landing Di Gregorio is a statement in itself. The former Roma architect has moved quickly to reshape key areas of the squad, and this signing drops a proven Serie A performer straight into the heart of the team.

“Michele is a goalkeeper with excellent qualities and valuable experience at the highest level,” Pinto said, hailing the Italian’s pedigree.

The headline incoming is Guglielmo Vicario, signed on loan from Tottenham Hotspur with an option to buy, a move that signals Juve see the Italy international as their future No.1.
